In the community

Dering believe that working with the community is the key to being a successful organisation that is innovative and forward thinking. We have a clear understanding of the issues and business drivers where we can maximise our impact as a responsible company.

We recognise the value for small charities of having access to expertise and support from volunteers. We provide all of our staff with the opportunity to volunteer in the local community to share this expertise.

Working with suppliers

Running a successful business and providing a socially valuable service can and should go hand in hand. So it's part of our philiospy to work with organisations who look for the best solutions rather than grabbing the quickest and easiest way to turn a profit.

That’s why we look for suppliers who have a history of involvement with groups traditionally excluded from the labour market. As an organisation created and run by a deaf person, we will source where practical, services from organisations which have been established by deaf or disabled people who would otherwise have faced barriers in employment.

Environment

Dering recognises that all aspects of its operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. Reducing our impact on the environment is an integral part of our culture and operating procedures.

Such is the dramatic changes in our planet as a result of environmental damage that we are committed to a programme of continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution with the aim of becoming a carbon neutral company.

Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice are regarded as setting the absolute minimum standards of environmental performance. In the future, we will record our environmental achievements on this website.
